International Kenshi-Kai Organization
Utah Branch
The International Kenshi-Kai Organization is dedicated to teaching traditional Goju Ryu Karate-Jutsu/ Kobujutsu, which is steeped in the historical and cultural practices of Okinawan martial arts. By preserving some of the oldest traditions from this rich heritage, we aim to provide our students with a deep understanding of the art that goes beyond mere physical techniques.
Unlike many sport-oriented martial arts schools that focus primarily on competition, we emphasize Karate as a complete martial art. This comprehensive approach incorporates a variety of elements including striking techniques, clinch work, throws, joint locks, and pressure points. Our curriculum is designed to develop well-rounded martial artists who are skilled not only in the physical aspects but also in the mental discipline that comes with the practice of Karate.
We are honored to be part of Grandmaster Tetsuhiro Hokama’s Kenshikai lineage, which is committed to the authentic teaching of Okinawan martial arts. By following the principles and techniques laid down by our ancestors, we continue to honor and preserve the legacy of these martial traditions. Our instructors are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping students achieve their personal best, whether they are beginners or experienced martial artists.
At Kenshi-Kai Utah, we believe that the practice of Karate goes beyond self-defense; it fosters personal growth, resilience, and respect. We invite you to join our community and embark on a journey of self-discovery, discipline, and empowerment through the art of Goju Ryu Karate-jutsu. Together, let us carry forward the tradition and spirit of Okinawan martial arts.
